When disaster strikes it is important that you have enough safe drinking water. A person can live for weeks without food, but without water the body can experience significant damage in a matter of days. The Emergency Water Storage Barrel (30 gallon) provides enough water for drinking, cooking, and light personal sanitation for two people for two weeks (approximately one gallon per person per day).
The Emergency Water Storage Barrel (30 gal.) is made from heavy-duty, thick, high molecular weight polyethylene resin and is FDA-approved and BPA-free. The dark blue color of this 30-gallon barrel restricts light and helps control growth of harmful algae and bacteria. Additionally, utilizing one Emergency Water Storage Barrel (30 gal.) rather than several small jugs minimizes clutter and frees up much needed floor space for other emergency supplies!
The water barrel accommodates both vented and non-vented plugs and/or dispensing equipment. There is a molded top ring to facilitate handling using hoist, parrot grabber, side grabber, hand truck and fork-lift. The Emergency Water Storage Barrel (30 gal.) has
One 2″ BTS (coarse thread) closure and one 2″ inch NPT (fine thread) closure with 3/4″ NPT insert. The water storage drum is D.O.T. Approved.
Technically, you can store your emergency water indefinitely if you use a clean blue emergency water container, store it in a cool dark area, don’t put the container directly on concrete, and do not expose it to harsh fumes and chemicals. However, to prevent your stored water from getting a stale taste, and your peace of mind, rotate your water every three to six months or use a water preserver.
During a disaster your everyday water supply can become contaminated or unavailable. An Emergency Water Storage Barrel (30 gallon) can help you have enough water to survive until help arrives.
